Case study

Background of the Problem Metal powder was found and the spring came to be stuck in the compressed position.
This problem was only found on one of three spring types./td>
Measurement Conditions
  • Probe - NCP300BA-H  Spring Type - SPL / SPS / SPH1
  • Spring Stroke Length - 5mm

CAUSE

【The process of powder generation】

PROBLEM SOLUTION

Shortening the spring stroke length can retard metal powder generation.

In order to retard the raising coefficient of friction, you need; Install the probes in a way that they can make contacts at the rate of 2/3 of the maximum spring stroke distance. Our springs are supposed and designed to be used at 2/3 compression.

<NOTE>
It can also raise coefficient of friction when probes perform at speed. In the case of high speed contacts, consult with us about the probe design.
